Twenty plus years into his career, Omar shows no signs of retiring yet. While we impatiently wait on the release of his new album, the appropriately named, The Man, he continues to keep us entertained with a number of varied and exciting collaborations. The most recent cut comes via The Layabouts, with Mr Lye Fook blessing a deep house vibe with his usual super soulful and unique stylings. His recent collaborations, such as last year’s Dancing with Zed Bias, have shown an edgier side to Omar. It leaves Mr SoulCuts intrigued as to the direction his upcoming album will take. As Long As You Belive is both BIG and subtle at the same time, offering up a vibe that works as well on the dancefloor as it will on your stereo, or iPod.
The Layabouts are also preparing the release of their album on Reel People Music for later on this year. With collaborators such as Omar and SoulCuts fave, Deborah Bond, we’re excited to get our mitts on a copy.
